Setback

Dear Friends
Ordinarily setback is a word that can doom a business and if enough of them occurred it definitely can. In my business career I have had my share but fortunately I found the way to “snap back” from every set back. I remember in particular the meeting in 1987 with the loan officer at Interfirst Bank in Arlington in which after 3 weeks waiting it told me that my $10000 loan request was rejected. Of course it had all the features of the set back but I did not let it depress me and I proceeded to go to the Bank President’s office. There I met the president to whom I expressed my entire disgust with their loan procedure and I remember flipping on his disk two credit cards one by Citi bank in New York and another from Wells Fargo in San Francisco. I told them how disappointed I was with his decision but he decision would not impede my progress in business ( since my two cards had more than that amount available for me) and as matter of fact would strength my resolve so that from that moment on I would “never ever” allow a bank to control my destiny. I would forge ahead and become self sufficient in capital needs. I would only allow myself borrowing for real state only. To date I have yet to use or take advantage of any banks credit line that had been offered to me over the years.
