I am so frustrated and disgusted by the daily doom and gloom of the American press (in particular the New York Times). I love America that is why I chose to make it my home after living the first half of my life in Italy. I am an optimist by nature and even though I understand that bad news sells I cannot understand why the media is so sanguine about the country they live in and they write about. I am sure the rest of the world would trade anytime their economic condition for the incredible success that the American economy has, is and will be enjoying in the future we can see now. The only people who cannot see this are the losers in the media. I thank you America for being who you are !! Down with the members of the media that hate you. -Domenic Seminara

When I was a kid growing up in southern Italy from
time to time people would talk about America and how wonderful of a place it was.
I had a chance to experience it first hand in 1951 when a devastating flood hit
my village and a large percentage of the population was adversely affected some
quite severely with loss of property and with sufferings. I remember faintly receiving
blankets and some other goods (jeans were also sent to the people in need) from
this wonderful country that till then I was dreaming about. Domenic |
