Dear
Friends
Service
is the single most important thing in any company. The interpretation
of it though varies as wide as horizon. This morning I called
a company in Italy and I got the usual recording that the channel
you to “push one for this and push two for that”.
I did push number 1 for sales and got blaring music (rock…,
to be exact) about 30 seconds the phone rang for about 3 rings
than I got same rock music again. This process lasted for about
4 minutes until a voice came on the line. By this time my nerves
were on the edge. I had altogether spent about six minutes on
the phone and all top of it the girl insisted that it was not
possible. Is it any wonder why so many business falls on hard
times ?
Of course the business I was calling has been around for over
30 years so complacency has taken hold for quite a while now and
although it will not kill the business if enough people like me
will get to the edge of hanging up and forgetting, than it will
cost irreparable harm. I printed on my business card “Obsessed
with customer service”, many people find it hard to believe
and yet I live by it and I demonstrate to people who call me every
call, every person, every minute, every hour, every day, every
chance I get. When I am in the office, I am here for one reason
and one reason only which is to take care my customers and my
friends which they are one and the same.
