Quite often question come up about Granita such
as;
A) How long it takes to freeze?
B) How much it holds?
C) How much fruits in it?
D) How far from a plug can you place the machine?
etc. etc.. etc...etc…………………………………
It would help to understand how Granita machine works. The machine
first has to cool the product to a freezing point before been
able to make flakes and ultimately a slushy mix. The warmer the
product is when you put it in the bowl the longer it takes for
the process to be completed. So for instance if you start with
an 80 degree liquid it will take over 2 hours to complete the
process. If in the other hand you were to chill the product down
to 35 degree prior to using it than would take ½ hour.
The second question should not be so important since you can add
as you go. Fruit content is unimportant in my view, since regardless
what flavor you were to make you would always get pear pulp in
it. As for the extension cord never use one because you will regret.
