Dear Friends
Quite often I wonder how Christmas was celebrated (or even if it was celebrated as we know it) in past centuries. I know that at some point between the excess of today and the modesty of those years there must have been a point that we would all enjoyed to go back to. I feel quite priveldge to have lived my early years absent from today's madness. We had no toys except the ones our parents or older siblings made for us. I did not feel deprived when in my first 2o years of life did not know that there was a SANTA CLAUS because "La Befana " was more than sufficient. We ( kids ) could spot her miles away riding on a broom on a clear winter night....... and when she came to visit us on january 6th and brought us a candy the size of a snikers bar called " Toroni" we would bite so little at a time that it would last for days........................... those were the days
