How compassionate are we?(Am i?).

In my thirty three years living in America I have come to realize that no other country in the world is more compaasionate than my adopted one "The USA". No other country has rich universities like America due to the generosity that both former students and very rich donors endow to their Alma Maters. No other country has even a fraction of the foundations that are left behind by rich entrepreneurs like "The USA". Europe is the total opposite, the money is kept in the family from one generation to another. The thought and the claim through the political process going on now suggesting that government should provide everything from Health care to College Tuition to Food stamps and to many other services that eventually would be turned into entitlements is flawed in my opinion because it kills more pride then it generates in people. Communism tried to do exactly that it failed miserably because it ended taxing more people than it helped. I like to tell of the story that I invented but it is true ....... in a dreary communist controlled apartment building in Moscow at one time during the Eighties two or three very responsible individuals went to work while the others seventeen were asleep getting over from the vodka hangover of the evening before (the reason they drunk was to obliterate their dreams and ambitions) untill the three also decided to stay home and with that act they paralized the system. What are we going to do with America? There is a story that goes like this : two men are walking down the street (One is Democrat and the other Republican), a homeless approaches them asking for money and help. The democrat suggests they take him in dress him , feed him and give him shelter, to which the republican said : I have a better idea, lets find him a job and rest will take care of itself!!
