Former Texas Ranger, Alfonso Soriano,
now plays for $10,000,000 per year for the Washington Nationals. Early this week,
he refused to take the field in the outfield.
As a 2nd baseman, he just didn't want to try it. Two days later, after considering
the potential monetary loss (violation of contract), he agrees to play left field.
That day he caught a short fly ball to him and quickly threw to second base to
score a double play.
"I never think that I'm going to make a double play in the outfield, But
I did it" said Soriano. Now, he has a big problem.
He played with a borrowed glove. He has to buy his own! Probably a tax deduction!
Anna Ginsberg of Austin won the Pillsbury bake-off contest held at Orlando, Fla.
Her recipe was baked chicken with spinach stuffing. Small potatoes, you say!
She won $1 million payable in 20 installments of $50,000!!. If you drive past
my house, please excuse the smell from the oven!!! I'm going next year.
