THE "WOW" FACTOR

Quite often I talk to people who are either thinking or well on the way to establish a new business I can see their longing for what I call " the wow factor". By that I mean simply that people's vision of the place they are thinking of opening is to be so perfect, so coordinated, so well furnished , so shiny ,so attractive, so , so, so ,so that when customers walk in undoubtedly will say "WOOOOOOOOOW". How flawed I found this theory ! I would rather have a place where customers will walk in find it attractive, extremely clean, cute, enticing, food-color conscious, welcoming and a warm welcome from the host( owner, manager, etc. ) inside . The customer would at this point order and when he or she is served a sincere "WOW" will follow. The difference in my opinion is enormous :
In the first case, you get a WOW for the way the place looks it automatically raises the level of expectation to the point where it is not impossible but hard to meet .
In the second case although the place is extremely pleasing does not raise the level of expectation too high and therefore a well executed food delivery will be pleasantly appreciated . I built my company of 24 years on the second theory. If you want to elaborate , call Domenic (me) at 817-640-3131
